If you had an account with Adobe or purchased anything from Adobe store online, you may be among the 38 million people discovered to be impacted by the recent hacking of Adobe. Adobe revealed on 3 Oct. that hackers stole around 3 million encrypted customer credit card records, and also Adobe’s famous Photoshop line of products’ source code.
However, a research done by security blog KrebsOnSecurity discovered that in fact thens of millions of user accounts were affected, after examining the “users.tar.gz” posted by AnonNews.org. The file contains more than 150 million username and password pairs, even though passwords are hashed.
This is a major blow to Adobe, which is a major software producer of graphical productivity products, and the famous Flash player which is used widely on internet for delivering videos.
