Recent Snowden leaks reveal that the governments of Singapore and South Korea are actively helping NSA, the US military intelligence organization, to spy on Asia.
According to leaks, Indonesia and Malaysia have been major targets for Australian intelligence and Singaporean intelligence. NSA calls the countries cooperating with it “Five Eyes”. And apparently, these governments are helping NSA tap undersea cables for internet communications, spying on all traffic that passes through these cables indiscriminately. These spying is also helped by US diplomatic offices in Thailand and India, US Air Force bases in Japan, and many other collaborating governments.
An earlier leak had revealed that Japan had refused NSA help to spy on Asian internet communications. But apparently, the US spying agency was not having lack of collaborating governments up until this point.
