At CES 2012 Samsung demonstrated phones with flexible screens. , and showed that the screen would still stay functional and display the output from the phone.
Also presented were videos of potential future products, like a screen coming out of a rolling storage stick, screens organized like books and similar.
Flexible OLED screens is a new technology which is being developed by many manufacturers including Apple. However, according to Forbes” Nigam Arora, Samsung is much ahead of its competition and can beat Apple”s phone dominance when it pushes first flexible screens to the market. Agora states that unbreakable, bendable, flexible screens can change the game when they are mass produced for phones and tablets. Not to mention Samsung”s potential control of up to 90% of the supplies of OLED displays.
