Right after it was discovered that Nokia was hijacking its users’ traffic from their phone, Nokia has come out and admitted that it is also decrypting secure traffic running over SSL – secure apps, your bank activities, your email traffic.
Appallingly, after admitting that they are not only hijacking their users’ browsing by pushing it through their own proxy servers and on top of decrypting sensitive secure traffic, the company claims that they are ‘not looking’ into the contents of the traffic. The company defends that they are doing this to ‘speed up’ their users’ traffic, and doing this in a safe and secure manner.
The reaction of customers whose privacy have been infringed yet remains to be seen. In the meantime, you can read more about this stampede at techweekeurope.
